Missouri Species Coloring Sheets

These coloring sheets introduce young chiildren to Missouri Species. The large drawing in the center is designed for children four and older to color on their own. The box on the upper right hand side tells what colors to use if children are interested in their drawing looking like the living species. However, any colors are fine and can be used to talk about why species are one color and not another.

  • The top left box has the common name of the species in large bold print, with the scientific name and its classification below (what kingdom, class, order and family it belongs to).
  • The top right box has websites with more information about the species.
  • On the left, the boxes show the life stages of the species throughout the year.
  • On the right, the boxes have the coloring guide, size information, a fun fact and at the bottom, information on what the species eats, if it is animal, and what eats it.
  • The bottom row of boxes shows where the species lives in North America, in Missouri, its habitat and its home.

The coloring sheets are pdfs and can be downloaded and copied for educational uses. At the bottom of this page there is a blank coloring sheet if you would like to create your own coloring sheet.
